Lori Spivit

Lori is one of the main characters of the Nemara universe.
She is an artist for whom art became not just an occupation but a defining element of identity. From an early age, Lori showed imagination and a pull toward solitary creation of her own worlds. After discovering the Magic Moon Lantern, her art took on a literally magical quality — drawings came to life, and she began to perceive the lantern’s light as a source of inspiration and life’s meaning.

Over time, Lori moves from childlike euphoria to emotional dependence on the lantern (Lantern dependence). The loss of its light triggers a deep crisis, and despite attempts to “find herself anew” — through self-persuasion, changing genres, or recalling past successes — she realizes her bond with the lantern was not only magical but also destructive.

Facts:

* As a child, drew everything, including temporary “tattoos” for other kids
* Felt the lantern’s influence even in sleep and during illness
* As she grew up, became a professional illustrator, used a graphics tablet
* Loss of lantern activation led to her first serious art block
* Considers the lantern what “made her personality”
